Welcome to the
Canadian Association of Freediving and Apnea (CAFA).
Freediving or breath-hold diving is a fantastic
sport that is gaining global popularity and momentum.
As the first non-profit freediving association in Canada, we aim
to further the promotion and development of the sport of freediving
both recreationally and competitively within Canada and abroad.

National Freediving Championships
Registration is now open for the CAFA National Freediving Championships, May 30 to June 1 in Vancouver.
Ottawa Snowball Cup Results
Final results are now posted for the Snowball Cup. This very well attended event had 11 first-time competitors. Big congratulations to Matt Charlton for putting on a stellar event!
New Record at Western Regional Competition
Final results are now posted for the Western Regional Competition, February 9-10 at the UBC Aquatic Centre in Vancouver.
Huge congratulations to Jill Yoneda who won the competiton and broke her old national record in Dynamic Apnea with Fins in the process. She reached a distance of 137 metres in the 50m outdoor pool.
Winram Wins Silver!
Congratulations to Canadian freediving sensation William Winram for winning silver in Constant Ballast without Fins at the 4th AIDA Individual World Championships in Sharm el Sheikh, Egypt. William achieved a depth of 75 metres, just behind Herbert Nitsch of Austria's 77 metre dive.
