Freediving or breath-hold diving is a fantastic sport that is gaining global popularity and momentum. As the first non-profit freediving association in Canada, we aim to further the promotion and development of the sport of freediving both recreationally and competitively within Canada and abroad.

Two New National Records!

Huge congratulations go to Jana Strain and William Winram for setting two national records at the Vertical Blue competiton in Dean’s Blue Hole, Bahamas. On April 4th Jana set a new national and continental record in Constant Ballast without Fins, achieving a depth of 51m.

On April 11th, the last day of the competition, William set a new national and continental record in Free Immersion with a depth of 90m.

Vancouver Apneist Spring Fling!

CAFA’s first competition of the year will be the Vancouver Apneist “Spring Fling”, May 1 to 3 in Vancouver. A schedule with registration form are now posted on this site.

This pool-only competiton is a CAFA Western Regional competiton and an AIDA “National Competition with Guests”. Performances in this competition will make it to the AIDA International ranking list and therefore count to your qualification to compete for Canada at the AIDA Indoor World Freediving Championships, this August in Aarhus, Denmark.
